Newcastle is a bustling city situated on the bank of the river Tyne in the north-east of England. The town was founded in 200 AD by the Roman emperor Hadrian, but did not obtain its current name until 1080 AD. It was actually almost wiped off the map altogether by invading Normans at one point, however, due to its strategic position, the eldest son of William the Conqueror erected a wooden castle on the spot where the city used to be, and it was then known as Newcastle.

- Before he originally built the city now known as Newcastle, Hadrian built a wall out of stone and timber across the width of northern England. Sitting between Europe and North America, Iceland is a mountainous, North Atlantic island. Although this land can be quite harsh, it is certainly a country of natural majesty and austere beauty. Occurring in Scandinavia during early summer, the Midnight Sun means just what it says?the sun is visible at midnight. Its opposite, the Polar Night, occurs in winter.
