It is shame that one of the victims of the internet is the travel agent who used to the person with the sole responsibility to ensure your vacation went smoothly. Travel websites have become more sophisticated, enabling every part of your travel itinerary to be completed, irrespective of how complicated it is. I have used travel agents since my senior year trip and no matter how many websites offer unbeatable deals; I will remain loyal to them although have taken a liking to doing my own research.

It isn't difficult to go ahead and check out the destinations that you are thinking about exploring and I have done that many times; I have even looked at rates to see if they are affordable before I approach a travel agent. I think that these people are undervalued as they need to have a good knowledge of each country and can be very helpful when you have questions relating to your trip. If you are planning on international travel, they can advise you of things you need to know and you can find out what some of the laws are that might affect you.

For instance some place charge a fee to enter their country which isn't always shown in the brochure or online and they will know this; they may be even able to advise on places to visit. Make no mistake, while the internet is undoubtedly very efficient, it is also quite impersonal and will not be able to give the assurances a travel representative can about your travel arrangements. Although I do not have any real problem with the internet it is the human approach that I prefer.

As much as people like and trust the internet to make everything perfect, there is something more comforting about talking to an actual person. It is an unfortunate fact that you cannot complain to the internet but you can to your travel agent; it may take a very long time before the internet can supply that sort of service. It was when my husband and I were to be married that having a travel agent really proved to be of enormous help as she just made it all so simple.

The lady was very pleasant and couldn't be more helpful so after a half hour chat I had a good idea where the best place for weather on our wedding was as well as a range of other services we might need. The pricing was obviously at the top of our priority list but she was even able to help there giving us plenty of options and contacting other companies for information on our behalf. Because of her help, we booked the vacation immediately and she organized a wedding coordinator to help make those arrangements. There is another reason why travel agents are better than the internet; you don't get much of a response from a computer screen when you want to complain.
