A Vacation In The Canary Islands
A vacation in the Canary Islands is something that is usually seen in glossy tourist brochures, but not very often in reality. Sub-tropical weather offers sunny weather throughout the year here, along with warm and spectacular beaches and the sparkling Atlantic Ocean. This Spanish archipelago is nominally a part of the EU, but geographically it is actually just off the African mainland near Morocco. The southern part of Gran Canaria also has many beach resorts. But the island's main attraction is the magnificent surf, with challenging waves in the north and a learner's paradise in the south, where tourists can even get surfing lessons. The island also has many golf courses, which includes Spain's oldest Golf Club.
The island of Lanzarote is a breed apart and attracts a large number of UK visitors looking to enjoy a vacation in the Canary Islands. The main attractions on Lanzarote are the museums, beaches and Timanfaya National Park which is a testament to the island's fiery volcanic past.
