Surfers Paradise: Fun For Surfers As Well As The Whole Family
Surfers Paradise is a real gem. It lies on the Australian Gold Coast and consists of a well developed commercial area lined with some of the most lovely beached imaginable. The town is always bustling and has a modern, energetic feel to it. There's more than enough shopping opportunities to keep the most avid shopper happy - shopping arcades and malls abound. The nightlife is hectic and others forms of entertainment are more than just adequate.
The beachfront and its immediate surroundings have been developed with fun in mind. There are enough cafes and restaurants to keep you eating, drinking and just lazing around for days on end. Accommodation options in the beach and central area make provision for holiday makers with all possible budget ranges. The beaches stretch for the entire length of the Gold Coast and also beyond that. A major plus is that most of them are patrolled.
On the central beach you are able to rent watersports equipment of a wide variety. A few of the options catered for include body boards, surf boards, wake boards, as well as jet skis.
Available activities in the immediate area are plentiful. If you don't fancy just lying on a beach or joining in the available watersports options, why not join one of the regularly volleyball games taking place in the central beach area every day? Even if you prefer not to play yourself, you could still derive a lot of enjoyment from simply watching some good players in action in one of these games.
If you love the sea and water, but just don't like to get wet, you have some other interesting options: why not buy a ticket for one of the very interesting whale watching cruises or even fishing charters that are on offer every day? Perhaps you simply prefer to have your two feel on solid ground all the time: in that case you still have the option of partaking in a game of mini golf (or real golf of course). And if you are really adventurous, you even have the chance to go bungy jumping.
If you are familiar with the Surfers Park area, you will no doubt also be aware of the many theme parks one finds in the Queensland vicinity. The whole family can join in the activities presented by these parks and you don't even have to get wet in the process!
For motor sport enthusiasts it's a good idea to visit the area during October, when the yearly Gold Coast Super GP event takes place. This is a very exciting event, looked forward to for the whole year, so don't miss it if you are in the area.
Of course the surfing at Surfers Paradise is great. If you are a surfer, coming without your surfboard would be the ultimate folly. But it's after hours that the fun really starts. Once the sun sets, the numerous bars and nightclubs in the streets adjoining the beaches start to open. A particularly popular area is Orchid Street, where you'll find a high concentration of clubs and bars. The competition between them is fierce, so if you keep your eyes open you will find many bargains such as reduced entrance fees and sometimes even free drinks. Theme parties take places in many of them every night, so once the fun starts it doesn't easily stop!
If you're more of a family man type and you no longer see yourself revelling in a night club, you can still have a lot of fun at night with your whole family by simply enjoying the many shops and activities in the Cavill Avenue area. You will find circus acts, street artists and many other entertainment options in this area every single night.
Surfers Paradise is certainly not only a paradise for surfers: it's a paradise for every single member of the family.
