Proven Money Saving Vacation Tips

Many of you may not like traveling but vacation is one of the best ways to relax and build those family relationships. If only they can be cheaper, everyone would go all the time.

How many of us really trust our travel agent? I'm here to tell you that despite popular belief, they actually have some pretty good deals because they book by the tens and thousands of people. This way, their bulk discounts are huge.

Figure out your vacation plan before you even begin your trip and save. By doing a bit of planning, you won't be wasting time and money going back and forth the destination and you will also be able to find deals.

Dinners are very expensive when you travel but you can probably save some money if you eat lots at breakfast, then less at lunch and even less at night. You will also be healthier too which is a big plus.

If you are flexible with your travel deals, be sure to look for last minute deals because the prices are truly spectacular. Companies will sometimes lose money to get you to go so the planes, hotels and cruises will look busy.

Prices fluctuate all the time so spend some time to log into the online booking site to see what the trends are. Be ready to book when you see prices drift towards the low end.

Bigger luggage may seem more cumbersome but since airlines are starting to charge by item, it make sense to use bigger pieces. Don't worry about having too big of a bag as long as you bought the luggage from a reputable brand.

The reward programs of travel companies are well worth the time to sign up. If you like using the same hotel chain, it gets even better because the more you travel, the more savings and peaks they give you.

Never get a rental car at an airport if you want to save money. With all those airport taxes etc, it literally pays to take a shuttle around the corner to get your car. Best of all, there are probably no lineups.

Insurance is very important for your vacation but you can always avoid paying for it by using a card that includes travel insurance. You may not know which one has it because you never looked but just a quick check will tell you.
